About

  • Ironman Difference was originally a site that showed how training for and competing in an Ironman Triathlon could change the lives of many. My name is Brian Hock and I completed the Ford Ironman Triathlon in Couer d’Alene, Idaho on June 22, 2008.

I rasied over $58,000 for Winners Walk Tall.
This blog documented everything involved in the life of a first-time Ironman athlete and the incredible event itself.

It now documents all my running efforts as well as an upcoming second Ironman - Louisville in August of 2010.

Winners Walk Tall

  • Winners Walk Tall is a character-building program that helps our youth develop the confidence they need to learn to make good choices as they mature in life. The only community-based program of its kind, this unique program provides a positive alternative to the problems students are facing.

Team

  • My wife Kristin for being supportive and extremely knowledgable about nutrition. My son Braden for just being him (and making me run extra laps when I get home every night). And Brianne for simply being Brianne.

  • Guy Karrick is a boston marathon qualifier and motivator when it comes to running. His sister is a multiple Ironman finisher and a wealth of knowledge.

  • Jim McMahon is one of my running partners.

  • Jed Davis is a key motivator and supporter of this and all my efforts.

Wow. What a year indeed! Glad to hear you survived the crash and congrats on Brianne - what a cutie! Very exciting that you're training for another IM. Hats off to you. Good luck on your BQ quest as well.
