Had a pretty good workout today at the YMCA. Swam about 2000 yds. and then ran 3.5 miles. My swim consisted of 10 warm up and cool down laps with 10x100 as the main set. I took about a minute break between each 100 to let my heart rate come down a touch and drink some water if necessary. I averaged about 1:40 with the last one in 1:31. It was a gradual improvement on each one with negative splits. It was hard and yet I didn't feel wiped out which was good.
My run was an easy 3.5 miles on the treadmill. I say improving in the title as it was smooth and nothing hurt. I am looking forward to start ramping up my miles in the very near future.
I had about a 23 mile bike ride down on the Newtown Trail on Friday and it was just okay. My total time was 1:23:12. It was a cold day and I did feel cold riding the second half but managed to keep a solid pace. I am going to need about a month or so before it starts to click like last summer when I was riding.
